Competency Development Model
In view of the theoretical researches and managing practices for years, Motorola University has established a complete supply chain training and consulting system on the basis of a unique competency development model consisting of the following three levels:
- Vision and Strategy: the competencies of managing on a strategic level required by the position as senior leaders of supply chain
- Functional Knowledge and Skills: the general background knowledge and skill critical to the work performance of a certain job or function in supply chain, including both job-specific and surrounding knowledge or skills that enable an employee to tailor one's general knowledge to the job context and working environment
- Professional Core: the capabilities essential to frame the general competencies base, such as Communication, Conflict Management, and the set of characteristics that produce outstanding performance on a given job
