Motorola University presented at the FELDA Six Sigma Convention, Malaysia 2009

The Felda Six Sigma Convention 2009 was been held at Grand Ballroom, Dewan Perdana Felda on 20th & 21st July 2009, attended by 300 participants from the whole Felda Group of companies and invited guests. The keynote address was presented by Tn. Hj. Abdul Halim Ahmad, Chairman of Quality Council, Felda group of companies and the opening ceremony launched by Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Mohd. Bakke Salleh, Group Managing Director (GMD), Felda Holdings Bhd.

Mr. R. Paramasivam, Regional Director, Motorola University South Asia & Australia/New Zealand presented the Motorola University's view and perspective on Six Sigma Implementation and the strategic direction of Felda group of companies. En. Kamaldin Nordin, Director of Motorola University, Asia Pacific also attended this convention as a special guest.

The objective of this convention was to recognize 5 Black Belt projects and 4 Green Belt projects within Felda group of companies. Black Belts and Green Belts received their Black and Green jacket from Dato' Mohd. Bakke Salleh as a symbol of recognition. They also presented their projects during the convention. Currently, Felda Holdings Bhd. has 20 Black Belts and 84 Green Belts from the various subsidiaries.

At the end of Day 1, Mr. PW Wong, Head of Quality Institute from Motorola University, Master Black Belt (MBB) summarized the convention presentation.

On the second day of the convention, Mr Simon Arputharaj Victor, Senior Engineer and Six Sigma Master Black Belt (MBB) from MIMOS Bhd. and Miss Amber Usman from BASF Asia Pacific Service Centre shared their Six Sigma experience with the participants. Both MIMOS and BASF Asia Pacific are clients of Motorola University.
